QUALITÜNNI What
makes our tub a quality tub? Our company philosophy states that quality
and price must be well-balanced. But what is quality? One person finds
a Mercedes Benz car an example of good quality and another person
believes VW to be good quality. The concept of quality is subjective,
but our tubs are demonstrably different. That’s why we have listed the
differences for you below.

WOODEN HANDGRIP When
you throw more wood into the stove you want to be able to do that well
and safely, without burning your hand. That’s why we have chosen for a
wooden handgrip. A self-evident example of quality.
|
SPARK-CATCHER Our
stoves are supplied with a chimney cap. This cap also serves as a
spark-catcher, which ensures that no sparks come out of the pipe. This
means that your neighbours are not troubled by showers of sparks. In
addition, no rain water gets into the stove. That is important, so the
inside of your stove remains dry.
|
QUALITY WOOD We use Nordic pine; the staves have grown very slowly. A stave thickness can take 80 or more years to grow!
Our
larch comes from Siberia. You can see that because the same applies to
larch with respect to the tempo of growth and natural impregnation.
Caution:
Some companies use the name Siberian larch for other varieties of
larch. This has an influence on the price……. but also on the
durability. If the wood grows faster you will have trouble with knots,
which fall out of the wood easily after some time. Then the tub leaks!
|
CLAMPING POSSIBILITIES The
weight of the water causes considerable pressure on the outer walls and
in addition wood, as a natural product, always warps. We have therefore
chosen adjustable hoops with stainless steel clamps. For larch and oak
we use three hoops because the power of the wood is greater.
Caution:
Some companies fix the hoops to the tub with screws. Due to the warping
of the wood the screws snap off after some time. This method of
fastening the hoops is cheaper in the short term, but more expensive in
the long run.
|
STOVE POSSIBILITIES What is better? The stove in or outside of the tub?
Baden
van Hout choose for a stove inside of the tub. This guarantees optimal
heating. A stove outside of the tub loses capacity through air flow.
When a stove is placed in the water the stove gives more heat directly
to the water. This means less heating time.
No kneel-stove The
stoves provided by Baden van Hout can be filled with pieces of wood up
to 70 cm, but more important, you do not have to kneel to do so! A
stove outside of the tub is hazardous, because it can cause severe
burns. Trough the cooling effect of the water you can't burn yourself
on a underwater stove.
|
STOVE POSSIBILITIES The
stoves are supplied with a generous water-inlet. This creates maximum
contact surface for heat exchange between the stove and water. By
positioning the channel slightly inclined, the natural flow of the
water is strengthened. And, by the way, water does not flow vertically!
|
STOVE POSSIBILITIES Our
stoves are supplied with feet insulated with synthetic material, so
that no holes are burnt into the bottom. Caution: Some suppliers
deliver a stove without feet, this can burn the bottom of your bath.
Our
stoves have a stabilizing rod, so that the chimney does not exert too
much torsion on the stove during windy conditions. Your stove remains
stable for longer.
|
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Our
staves have a thickness of 42 mm and have the shape as you can see on
the left photo. This shape ensures a maximum of contact between the
wood and the water. Staves which have less thickness are less durable,
this means that a hot tub with thicker staves has a longer life
expectancy. Moreover the pressure of the water is so great that the
thin staves sooner or later will succumb under the pressure.
